Video Email
NEW effective February 24, 2005

Video email enables you to send video and/or voice email to your family, friends or business associates.  With video email it is so easy to send or receive a personalized message in an email.  TriCounty understands that not everyone has access to high speed Internet.  To maximize the use of video email we store the video on our server, and attach a link in your email to the recipient.  This prevents unwanted large attachments from clogging up your mailbox.  If you are not currently a TriCounty customer and would like to use this exciting NEW feature, contact our customer service center at 252-964-8000 Today!

What do I need to use Video Email?
Make sure you already have a microphone (for audio messages) and/or a compatible video camera (for video messages) installed on your computer. A list of compatible cameras is located at the end of this document. Many computers already have built-in microphones. Please be sure to check the lighting in your area when composing a message. It is important to be in a well lit area for the best results. Recording audio or video messages is easy with Microsoft Internet Explorer or Netscape Navigator. Make sure that you have only one browser window open to minimize the confusion with the recorder. Also make sure you are not running a CD player, an MP3 player, or other audio or video software before starting the Video email recorder. The recording page will automatically detect if you have a microphone or a video camera. If you have only a microphone (most PCs today have built-in mics), the recording page will state "Recording Audio Only", and you can record an audio message. If you have a video camera that is compatible with the service, you can record a video message.
